What is the quality and function of the custom-fit Quad Lock Case cover? Does the water-repellent rain poncho fulfil its function?
The cover is of high quality and fits perfectly. The smartphone fits in perfectly. The cover is easy to attach and remove. The case looks similar to other high quality cell phone bumpers. Turn the phone over and you’ll see the Quad Lock mount on the back.
The Quad Lock case is made of soft plastic, which protects the phone around good the edges protrude slightly beyond the display. The first step: Place the iPhone in the Quad Lock case.

Attachment of the Quad Lock to the bike
The mounting of the Quad Lock bracket is quick and easy: The Quad Lock Bike Mount bracket is included in delivery. The bracket is attached to the bike with rubber rings or cable ties, the complete mounting material is included (in 2 sizes).
You can attach the Quad Lock Bike Mount to the stem or to the handlebar.
The back of the Bike Mount Kit is rubberized. This means that the holder sits securely in place – nothing slips here.
The Bike Mount bracket is attached to the bike? Your smartphone sits in the Quad Lock Case? Great, now you can attach your smartphone to your bike.
- Place the smartphone including case rotated 45 degrees on the holder

This is how you remove your smartphone from the Quad Lock mount:

- Rotate smartphone

The Quad Lock Case sits quite high on the handlebar. Even if your Ahead headset is tall, the smartphone and phone holder can be easily attached to the stem:
The unlocking works as already described: The blue sleeve is simply pressed down and you can remove your smartphone.
Attachment and removal is child’s play. The construction works reliably and holds bombproof. I’ve ridden it over the most challenging trails and the smartphone always holds securely to the bike with the mount.
Quad Lock Out Front Mount (Aero Mount) – Bike Mount on Handlebars
The Quad Lock Out Front Mount is an aero mount: You can attach the mobile phone bike mount to handlebars with a diameter of 25.4 millimetres or 31.8 millimetres. A suitable adapter for mounting on both handlebar diameters is included. The Out Front Mount is an additional option for mounting your smartphone with the Quad Lock system.
You can mount the Quad Lock Out Front Mount quickly and easily with an Allen screw. The method of attachment is similar to other aero mounts and has proven itself in practice. With the Quad Lock system, this attachment also works very well.
Mounting your smartphone to the Quad Lock Out Front Mount: The mounting of your smartphone in the case works the same as with the Quad Lock Bike Mount Kit described above:
- Place smartphone including Quad Lock case rotated 45 degrees onto the Aero mount
- Press smartphone down slightly
- Turn smartphone straight again
You now notice how the smartphone locks securely into place. With the Aero mount, you can also attach your smartphone in portrait and landscape mode.
You can also conveniently remove your smartphone again:
- Push down the small blue lever
- now turn the smartphone 45 degrees and remove it upwards
Practical: you can attach a GoPro adapter to the bottom of the out Front Mount bracket. Then your GoPro or compatible Action Cam is always ready to go.
Quad Lock experience while riding a bike
The Quad Lock mount and case are all around high quality workmanship. The smartphone holds bombproof on the bike and there are hardly any vibrations. Even in everyday life you can leave your phone in the case. Your smartphone remains protected and the case makes a good figure.
After a short period of familiarisation, you can release your smartphone from the holder with one hand.
There is also a suitable Quad Lock mount for other applications. There are holders for:

Quad Lock Universal Adapter
The Quad Lock Universal Adapter can be stuck to the smartphone or a smartphone case with a 3M adhesive pad. This makes almost any smartphone compatible with the QuadLock system – even if there is no custom-fit case from the manufacturer.
Please note the following: The QuadLock Universal Adapter does not hold on TPU rubber. TPU rubber is a soft material and is therefore used in many smartphone cases, e.g. also in the smartphone case in the photo.
If the QuadLock adapter is used, then the smartphone case should be made of a different material, e.g. conventional plastic. A compatible protective case is, for example, the Tough Armor case from Spigen. The case is available for many smartphone types.
This case uses a material mix of silicone TPU for the inner part and polycarbonate for the outer part. There the QuadLock Universal Adapter can be attached.
The custom-fit QuadLock cases are excellent products. However, I do not have enough confidence in the Universal Adapter. If you read through the Amazon reviews on the article also rightly. If you are often off-road with your MTB or gravel bike, the QuadLock Universal Adapter will probably not hold up permanently.
Quad Lock or SP Connect? Smartphone bike mount
Custom-fit bike mounts for popular smartphones are also available from SP Connect. What is the difference to Quad Lock? The quality and reliability of the SP Connect mobile phone holders is similarly high. Here hardly any wishes remain open.
QuadLock Case – Bike Kit and Out Front Mount:

❌ SP Connect requires more space on the handlebar: The smartphone is attached to the holder with a 90 degree rotation. When attaching the smartphone, you need more space on the handlebars than with QuadLock.
❌ More complicated is the change between portrait and landscape format. For this you need tools, because the base mount on the wheel must be converted.
