In the hand – Park Tool IB-3
Only 13 functions are offered by the Park Tool IB-3. The functions are chosen in such a way that you hardly have to do without anything. In relation to the number of functions, the weight of 168 grams is quite high. After all, the mini tool is first-class processed and scores with good handling.
You will find the following tools at the IB-3:
- Basic tools: All major Allen sizes are provided: 2mm to 8mm and a Torx T25 is also included. Very good! Also included in the equipment is a slotted screwdriver. Unfortunately, you will miss a Phillips screwdriver. The need for this tool should be considered before buying.
- Chain rivet and nipple tensioner: A nipple tensioner for two nipple sizes is integrated into the tire lever. The mini tool also includes a size 10 wrench and a chain riveter. The tire lever is used as a lever for the chain riveter, which makes it particularly easy to push out chain pins.

✅ The chain riveter is the highlight on the IB-3 multitool: The tire lever is used as a lever to turn. The tool sits securely on the chain riveter and the long lever allows you to push the rivet pins out of the chain with very little force – great!
Bad
❌ The Park Tool IB-3 can score overall with its handling. The rather short tools are less noticeable: Hard-to-reach places can be completely inaccessible as a result. Depending on the tool and the screw location, it may not be possible to work completely at a 90-degree angle. This then makes it harder to build up proper leverage.
❌ If you apply a lot of force, then the tool sometimes bites into the skin. This is due to the lack of a rounded cage: the tools and also the screws are outside the aluminium body and you therefore reach directly into partly sharp edges. In all other situations, the multitool makes a really good figure.

Conclusion
The IB-3 is a high-quality processed multitool with an outstandingly good chain riveter. Due to the special design, the multitool is also very compact, but also has its own peculiarities, for example, that the screws are located on the outside of the housing and can pinch the skin. Overall, most screwdriver needs are met with the functions offered.
